Practical Music Worksheets for Real Classrooms
Free Music Worksheets was designed to help music teachers, classroom students, homeschool families, and beginner musicians find helpful, easy-to-use music worksheets without having to dig all over Google. Whether you teach band, choir, guitar, general music, music theory, or music technology lessons, this site is designed to provide you with simple worksheets that you can use to support authentic learning in your classroom.

Why This Site Exists
Music teachers have a lot on their plates. From lessons, rehearsals, concerts, grading, classroom management, instrument repairs, and supporting students at all skill levels, it can be difficult to find clean and student-friendly worksheets that you can use immediately.
I started Free Music Worksheets to simplify that process for teachers.
Here at Free Music Worksheets, we have a simple goal – to provide free, accessible, and practical music worksheets that help students understand music one concept at a time. On this site, you’ll find worksheets that students can use to practice:
Reading notes on the staff
Recognizing rhythm
Identifying musical symbols
Learning about instrument families
Reviewing basic music theory concepts
Practicing band, choir, guitar, and music technology lessons
Building vocabulary and classroom music knowledge
You’ll find that the worksheets we offer are practical, straightforward, and easy to use in the classroom.
Created by a Music Educator
Hi, I’m Bill Stevens – the man behind Free Music Worksheets. I’m a professional music educator with over 20 years of teaching experience. I’m a Certified Elementary and Secondary Music Teacher who has worked with students of all ages.
During my career, I’ve helped students grow as musicians by creating band and general music lessons for elementary students, working as a guitar teacher for middle and high school students, and using my curriculum creating skills to become a content creator and host of The Music Educator Podcast.
I understand how teaching music works. I know what teachers need. I’ve spent countless hours creating lesson plans, worksheets, lesson activities, and worksheets for my own students.
I understand the need for quality worksheets. Whether I was looking for a sub plan, working on a lesson activity, or just needed a few extra practice pages for my advanced students, good worksheets were not always easy to find.
That is why Free Music Worksheets exists. I want to provide music teachers and students with high-quality worksheets that you can use immediately, here on this website.

Useful for beginners
Helpful for review and reinforcement
Appropriate for classroom, homeschool, or independent practice

Many students need repeated practice before music concepts become automatic. A well-designed worksheet can give students another chance to see, name, write, identify, and understand the musical ideas they are learning in class.

A Practical Resource for Music Learning
Music education should feel clear, encouraging, and accessible. Students learn best when they can connect what they see on the page with what they hear, play, sing, create, and perform.
The worksheets on this site are designed to support that connection.
They are not meant to replace great teaching. They are meant to support it.
Use them for warm-ups, centers, review days, assessments, homework, enrichment, sub plans, or extra practice. The more students interact with musical concepts, the more confident they become.

Our Mission
The mission of Free Music Worksheets is to make quality music-learning resources easier to find and easier to use.
This site exists to support teachers, save time, encourage students, and make music learning more accessible for everyone.
Thank you for visiting Free Music Worksheets. I hope these resources help make your teaching a little easier and your students’ musical growth a little stronger.
